BSc (Hons) Geography
My favourite thing about my degree is the fieldwork. It's an opportunity to apply what we've learned.
I had a really good geography teacher at school and college and developed a love for the subject early on. Thanks to my teachers who supported me throughout my education, I decided to pursue a geography degree at university.
My favourite thing about my degree is the fieldwork. It’s an opportunity to apply what we’ve learned.
The top three skills I’ve developed during my degree are:
- Working in the field and in groups.
- On-the-spot problem-solving, something I didn’t realise was so important until it happened in the field.
- Dedicating long hours to working.
The most memorable moment of my degree so far has been our trip to Duddon Mosses in the first year. We were coring for peat and managed to exceed the expectations of how far down we would be able to go.
The best thing about Edge Hill University to me is how nice the campus is. My favourite place on campus is The Catalyst.
The careers team at Edge Hill are extremely good, they help ensure you know how to adapt to your future. When I graduate, I hope to become a teacher.
My advice for anyone considering studying geography at Edge Hill? Go for it!
