We may require specific income or expenditure evidence from you to assess your application. Please email this as soon as possible to enable us to complete the assessment.<\/p>      <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 37%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The\u202fStudent Support Fund\u202f<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Support Fund\u202fprovides non-repayable discretionary awards and emergency support to assist students in financial difficulty, who might otherwise be at risk of leaving their courses because of financial hardship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u202fStudent Support Fund\u202fmay be available to provide help for full time (and eligible part time) students who have serious financial difficulties or whose access to higher education might be inhibited because of financial reasons.<br><br>The fund is also open to students on an apprenticeship programme. This is a means tested fund and is designed to provide a financial contribution to support those whose expected reasonable expenditure exceeds their income. If there is a deficit between these figures, we can pay a percentage of this up to a maximum of \u00a33,000. This is known as a Standard Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected that students will also be able to supplement their income from a variety of routes, for example, part-time work, vacation work, student bank overdrafts at 0% charges, savings or additional parental support where appropriate.\u202f\u202fThe standard assessment\u202fusually includes\u202fan \u2018assumed income\u2019 figure to cover these\u202fadditional\u202felements of income rather than\u202ftaking into account\u202fthe actual\u202famount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*Students who find themselves&nbsp;with a reduced maintenance loan and then experience a term time change in circumstances that results in a significant fall in&nbsp;their parent\/s or partner\u2019s declared income (of 15% or more for Student Finance England),can contact their relevant Student Funding Body&nbsp;to consider a Current Year Income Assessment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are facing an unforeseeable financial emergency (such as an emergency and unexpected house move, essential household repairs or other emergency situations) we may be able to make an income related assessment to consider a contribution towards these costs, however, please be advised this does not include home improvements. Examples of essential evidence required would be the full break down of Student Finance loans and grants, the last three months bank statements for accounts held (savings, current, basic and any unused accounts that remain open) <a href=\"https:\/\/edgehill.ac.uk\/studentservices\/managing-your-money\/#lwptoc9\">a spending target or budget<\/a>, a document to evidence housing costs and one example of travel costs from home to university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional evidence will be required based on individual applicants\u2019 situations. Please use the application form as a guide. It\u2019s a good idea to submit all your evidence with your application to help avoid delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I receive help with tuition fees?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students experiencing financial hardship may apply to the Student Support Fund; however, the Fund does not cover tuition fees, and any awards due may not be used to make a tuition fee payment. In instances where a student has an outstanding tuition fee debt to the university, we reserve the right to withhold any Student Support Fund award, until such time as tuition fee payment has been brought up to date and in line with the agreed payment plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I apply more than once?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We assess your application over the whole academic year, so it is not usually possible to re-apply to the fund. However, if your financial situation since your original application was made (your income has reduced and or your expenditure\/costs which can be included in a hardship assessment have increased), you can ask to be re-assessed once per academic year. Please make an appointment with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/departments\/support\/studentservices\/moneyadvice\/\">Money Advice team<\/a> to discuss your situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How much could I receive?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your application is successful, we will award a figure between \u00a3100 and \u00a33,000. The exact amount that you receive will depend on your individual financial circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How will payments be made?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Payments will be made directly to your bank account. Students who are in receipt of means-tested benefits may receive their award in one instalment but other students may receive a number of instalments. There may be times when we will make payments direct to a third party such as childcare provider. Students who are self-funding their tuition fee or in receipt of post-graduate loan may receive their award in instalments following confirmation that they are up-to-date with their agreed tuition fee payment plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I appeal the decision?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The request for an appeal should be made by completing and returning a Student Support Fund appeal form within 4 weeks (28 days) of the original decision. This is an opportunity to review the original decision, to check the accuracy of the calculations and ensure that all relevant information and evidence has been considered. The appeal can also consider any subsequent evidence you wish to provide with the appeal request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will normally receive a response within 10 working days of receipt of the completed appeal form. It is important that you explain fully why you are requesting an appeal and submit any additional supporting evidence\/information with your request(s).
