Congratulations \u2013 you\u2019ve got an interview. We hope you\u2019re as excited as we are to get the news. The first thing to do is take a moment to celebrate your achievement. Be proud of the fact that your personal statement and your predicted or achieved grades have got you through the first stage. And before the nerves kick in, we\u2019re here to say don\u2019t worry. Complete any tasks you\u2019re given.<\/p>\n

You might be asked to watch a video or create a short presentation.\n

\nThis will be clearly outlined on your interview guidance webpage. \n\nMake sure that you complete any tasks you\u2019re given as far in advance of your interview date as you can. That way, you can reflect on whatever you\u2019ve prepared and make any final adjustments before the big day.\n\nIf your task is to be delivered as part of a small group, take this as an opportunity to showcase your teamwork and people skills. \n

You might end up being on the same course together so take the opportunity to be friendly and supportive and make some new friends along the way. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n

Practise your answers to basic interview questions. So think about why you want to study at Edge Hill University. And why you want to become a nurse. \n

“My top tip for attending a health interview is to be up-to-date with news surrounding health services or events that may have impacted health within the UK. It is possible a case study may be used during your interview, so if you have prior knowledge this is helpful. It may also benefit to use current health and social care news when answering your interview questions to show that you have a current understanding and interest in healthcare.”<\/p>\nLaurey (MNSW Child Nursing and Social Work)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On the day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019ve followed all the steps above, you\u2019ll be feeling raring to go. So, here are our top tips for a great interview:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Get a good night\u2019s sleep the night before. Yawning isn\u2019t a good way to show your enthusiasm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Eat a decent meal before your interview. Keep your energy levels up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Stay hydrated. Take water with you or have some on hand if you\u2019re at home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Dress comfortably but smart. Whether it\u2019s in person or online, your interviewer wants to know you\u2019re taking it seriously.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Bring any pre-prepared notes or completed tasks. Have a back-up if you have to do a presentation \u2013 email a copy to yourself and bring printouts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • If you\u2019ve been asked to bring documents, have them with you in a simple folder so they\u2019re easy to find and well presented.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Bring a pen and a notepad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Arrive early so you\u2019re not flustered or in a rush. If your interview is online, make sure you\u2019re sat at your computer ready to go at least 10 minutes before the interview is due to begin. And have a contact number or email to hand in case you\u2019re delayed in any way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Be yourself. They want to get to know you. So, show them who you are, and what you can do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
